First Quilt Success!!

I know I haven't updated this in a little while, and that this isn't crochet related at all, but it must be shared!
I promise I will post a blog about my quest to make adult-sized booties. Soon.

But for now, you will have to be satisfied with a photo of the quilt I made for my husband. It took a lot of work, and I'm pretty sure my fingers were even bleeding towards the end. Okay... they weren't bleeding, but they were bruised and sore!!
The squares are 8x8" approximately, since I don't have a rotary cutter or cutting mat and I had to trace the squares onto the fabric and then cut them out. I will definitely be investing in the rotary cutter and mat for any future quilting adventures. For the backing I just bought a king sized flat sheet, and I used embroidery floss to tie the quilt together in each corner of each square, and the centre of each square.

Enough! Time for the picture!

Yes, those are skulls.
I may or may not be obsessed with them.

Currently living in Manitoba, I am a high school substitute teacher actively looking for a teaching position. In my spare time I enjoy creating crochet items, as well as photography and a variety of outdoor activities.

While this blog is mainly devoted to the art of crochet, I love all things handmade, and will occasionally post recipes for homemade beauty products.
